“Adam designed our gorgeous new home and was heavily involved in the process throughout construction..
From the first meeting we were impressed with Adam's ability to listen and understand our family's needs and somehow articulate that into a unique design that was not only beautiful but also incredibly functional and practical. We had several design iterations between the first concept sketches to the final plan and each time, Adam took great care to ensure all of the design elements worked. This was the first time we had built a home from scratch, so we had approached this whole process with much trepidation, based on stories of friends who had used other designers. No such problems for us however! Adam recognised that we were new to all of this and "held our hand" through the design phase, gaining approvals and then assisted with finding the right builder for the job. At all times he was patient and explained each step of the way. He definitely worked in our interests and had no qualms in telling us if some of our ideas were not cost effective or would not suit the overall design.
Once construction had commenced, Adam's involvement did not end. He maintained a firm interest in the whole construction process, regularly attending the site to ensure that our design which was on paper translated smoothly into the real thing. During the construction there were a few minor changes made, and he was very proactive in engaging with the builder to find the best possible solution. One of the changes (through no fault of Adam or the builder - it was our choice) needed some extensive modifications to the trusses. Adam was there on site with the builders and together both came up with a workable solution. This was impressive as many people who had built houses in the past told us of their experience where the designer had minimal involvement once construction had started. Adam was totally different, and we appreciated the extra steps he took to ensure an outstanding result.
We cannot speak highly enough of Adam Hobill and his team. They were outstanding from the first meeting, through the design process and all the way through to completion of our new home. Although unlikely, if we ever needed to build another home again, we would not bother approaching anyone else. Adam Hobill is an outstanding and thoughtful designer, highly professional and will help at each and every step of the building process. We cannot recommend him highly enough.”

“We've always had a dream of building a house of our own and over the years collected quite a few ideas. The brief was to put these together into a cohesive design aesthetically pleasing and environmentally friendly and the final design exceeded our expectations!
Some of the design highlights are open plan living areas; quiet winter room with open fireplace, well connected with the outdoors via extensive decking; wraparound pool with spa; and maximised the views towards Canberra landmarks and beyond.

“After purchasing a 100 acre rural block we knew we wanted something better than a brick veneer "Display Home". We wanted something original and more sympathetic to the locality. We knew a custom designed home was the only way we could achieve that.
We had worked with Adam Hobill Design on a renovation of our previous home so the decision to go with Adam was very easy.
We gave Adam a simple brief of an open, family oriented home with a basic 3 bed 2 bath layout, but we also wanted the design to allow for future expansion. We wanted all natural, low maintenance materials and we didn't want any external paintwork. Other than that we were happy to see what Adam and his team could come up with.
When you see the plans for your new home for the first time it is a very exciting time. We were so impressed with the very first concept drawings that we hardly changed anything! This surprised us both as we have very specific tastes.
The design has many solar passive elements and we must admit we were a little sceptical of the level of benefits that these would provide. How wrong we were! We have the warmest house I have ever been in. It doesn't matter how cold it is outside, if the sun is shining it will be beautifully warm inside. The house also defies its modest size. At only 18 squares it is by no means a large home but the layout and light filled rooms make it feel spacious and expansive.
Ross Wynne's reputation on the south coast led us to choose him to build our dream home and we are very happy with our choice. Ross's vast building experience and his guidance in various decisions re materials and the like made the process much easier for us and also saved us money.
Through both Ross and Adam's work we now have a fantastic, comfortable & warm, sun-filled home that we can expand as our family grows. We are looking forward to working with them again on the next stage in the near future.”
