director and principal designer
“If it was easy, everybody would be doing it!…”
Adam lives and breathes the building industry. From a young age he explored building projects being constructed by his family’s small building company and it was a natural progression for Adam to forge a career in the industry.
Adam is passionate about homes being crafted to suit their inhabitants rather than being produced for the masses, and about the idea that a home should enhance your lifestyle and nurture relationships. Known for his ability to understand and work with a client brief, Adam is a leading design professional with a unique ability to deliver so much more than just design services.
There is nothing he enjoys more than witnessing the enjoyment his clients get as they begin a new chapter of their lives in their new home. He has a thorough understanding of the residential building industry that has been honed through the completion of over 500 projects, including building two of his own family homes.
With 25 years of industry experience Adam has seen the best and the worst of the industry and has developed a deep understanding of the key elements that are important to homeowners when designing their homes and navigating the building process.
Adam is a multi-award-winning designer with the Master Builders Association, the Housing Industry Association and Building Designers Association of Australia.
When not scribbling out ideas for his next design, Adam is likely to be kicking a ball or riding a bike with his three kids. When time allows, he loves to get back to the coast; to visit family, eat oysters, walk on the beach and swim in the ocean.
His devotion to the Essendon ‘Bombers’ is unwavering and has prompted many a spirited discussion.
daniel boucher
bachelor of architecture & advanced diploma of building design
senior project designer
“ considered design is the true form of luxury… “
Our first encounter with Daniel was about 9 years before he became our newest team member, when he spent a week with us on work experience when completing his Advanced Diploma in Building Design. He spent the next 8 years honing his skills and enhancing his reputation at one of Canberra’s leading architectural firms; all the while working towards completing his architectural registration, which is now within reach.
Daniel is now our Senior Building Designer and project coordinator and an integral member of the design team, with involvement across all aspects of the design process from concept design and input into interior design, as well as documentation and construction implementation. He is skilled across a range of software and he especially has a high level of expertise in Revit, for which he takes a lead role in mentoring the team to keep improving the quality and efficiency of our services.
In his own time, Daniel likes to restore and drive cars and generally immerse himself in all things design and architecture. Daniel has become the self-appointed ‘social officer’ of our team, and we all look forward to regular outings for coffee, pastries and dumplings.
Christina was 9 when she first decided she wanted to be an architect. There were slight deviations from the path, where she wanted to work in fashion design or production, stage and lighting design, but the path always led back to designing buildings.
Working in the industry since 2013, her journey has taken her from small renovations and extensions to large-scale projects of up to 250 dwellings, spanning social housing, educational, commercial, community, and hospitality projects.
What Christina finds most rewarding is working on single homes. She genuinely enjoys helping families discover what their dream home truly is and then making that vision a reality. She's particularly drawn to designs that create a strong connection between the home and its garden, and is passionate about passive design strategies that make the most of free, natural resources.
Though Christina is a registered architect, she's currently working as a building designer with us here at Adam Hobill Design, where she gets to focus on what she loves most about residential design.
When she's not designing homes, Christina is busy being a mum to her 4-year-old son and enjoys staying active through soccer, bouldering, camping, mountain biking, and hitting the slopes for some skiing.
