Whilst many people have viewed 2016 as something of a disaster, our office rather enjoyed it…!
It was a big year for awards at Adam Hobill Design. In April, we had success at the local ACT BDA design awards, winning one category and picking up a highly commended in another.
This success was continued later in the year with two winning entries in the National Building Designers Association of Australia Design Awards including;
> New residential buildings : 251-350sqm (Deakin Residence)
> New residential buildings : 351-450sqm (Turner Residence)
In late October our success continued at the 2016 HIA ACT & Southern NSW Housing Awards where we were honoured to win two awards;
> Renovation/Addition Project : $200-$350k (Narrabundah additions)
> Residential Building Designer of the Year (Turner Residence)
A big thank you to those clients who generously allowed us to reach that success, your hard work, flexibility and willingness to prepare the homes for photos and judging is very much appreciated.
Whilst there is no doubt that winning awards is a big thrill, I get even more satisfaction in seeing our designs being built. This process culminates in that exciting time when our clients move into their brand new homes. 2016 saw the completion of several of our designs and there were a couple of standouts in terms of the final result and over the moon clients. One of those is a new home in Boobialla Street, O’Connor. Built by Creative Building Services, this contemporary home was designed to showcase the expansive views towards the city. With great assistance in the interior design from Nicola at Yolk, this home had fulfilled all of the clients hopes and dreams. Stay tuned for more photos coming to our site soon…
