What’s missing from your building and renovating drawings?…

Your set of drawings are the most critical piece of documentation you can have when getting a project out of the ground, however even the most thorough set of plans are likely to be missing a lot of important pieces of information that will lead to inaccurate quoting and budget blow-outs.  Even paying high end architectrural fees doesn’t guarantee you’ll be safe as there are lots of items that rarely get shown in enough detail on your drawings.

There are dozens of things that are represented on the floor plan, or simply assumed to be included in a builder’s quote because it just seems obvious. However, these items are often not dealt with in sufficient detail to ensure that you and your builder are on the same page – and when that is the case, you are more exposed to inaccurate quoting, build-stage cost variations, builder’s margins and budget blow-outs.

This article I wrote for houzz.com.au gives you an insight to what you might find missing from your drawings and what the impact will be; I hope you find it useful…
